To iphone or to not iphone

I definitely want an iPhone. The one with a camera in it to be sure. But I can't really afford it, unless I did the following:

1. I would cancel my internet and cable at home (saves me $50/month).
2. Put that toward a new phone.

I could def. get away with it because I have a DVD player at home already AND I can get online all day every day at work. Plus with an iphone I can check my email at home.

Although I don't know if I could do without the ability to watch The Biggest Loser on my laptop at home. And what about the weekend? Hm. Well internet is only $20 a month. So maybe I would keep that. But I would have to justify spending $50 on a phone.

The circles I run. Sheesh!

Few things on my mind today

As the title implies, I have a few things on my mind today.

I feel as if I want to be more outside of the box in my approach to my job. I have a rare opportunity to be extremely creative and outgoing, energetic and attention-grabbing. One way I was introduced to this was through the FISH! philosophy back when I was a resident assistant in college. The idea is to have fun, be present and in the moment, and to choose your attitude...I believe there is one more point as well.
Yet the point is to "happen to life" as it were instead of "life happening to you." And that is the approach I want to have. I have a vocation right now, and that is what my present job is. I don't want to be its victim. I don't want to be its slave. Rather, with God's grace and help, I want to happen to my life according to His plan. I want to enjoy (be in the joy) of each moment of each day. No cares or worries either.

But how to do this. Is it with a philosophy? Maybe. I think it has everything to do with being intentional and the virtue of perseverance. It is very difficult to do that and it requires a sacrifice of sorts. I think I can handle it because I know that is what I want.

The day? It's mine-All mine, for His glory.

Blogs I follow

Here is a list of blogs I have been following lately.

That is it, pretty much. Two Catholic and two non-Catholic (I think they're both Lutheran). Seeing as I used to be Lutheran I enjoy following my brothers and sisters in Jesus to see what they are thinking and what they are up to. I have to say, quite interesting and pretty much not at all what I was excpecting. From the Catholic side of it, though, I love American Papist and New Liturgical Movement. Both are solid, orthodox, and faithful to the Church.
